Gemini<\/a> confidentially filed a draft registration statement with the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) for an initial public offering (IPO) of Class A common stock, according to a<\/span> June 6 statement<\/a><\/strong>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The exchange controlled by Cameron<\/a> and Tyler Winklevoss<\/a> stated that the share count and price range will be determined once regulators complete their review and market conditions permit a launch.<\/span><\/p>\n

Reports from Feb. 7 indicated that Gemini had<\/span> begun discussions with advisers<\/a><\/strong> about going public within this year.<\/span><\/p>\n

Gemini must now respond to SEC comments, update financial statements, and set offer terms before marketing shares to investors. The SEC must declare the registration effective before sales can begin.<\/span><\/p>\n

At the time, Bloomberg ETF analyst James Seyffart<\/a> said a White House friendly toward digital assets could encourage more exchanges to tap US capital markets.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Circle\u2019s potential effect on crypto listings<\/strong><\/h2>\n

The move positions Gemini to join a growing roster of digital asset companies pursuing US listings. Stablecoin issuer Circle<\/a> debuted on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) on June 5, following an IPO with share prices initially set at $31.<\/span><\/p>\n

The firm\u2019s CRCL shares quickly<\/span> surged to $103.75 within 30 minutes<\/a><\/strong> but decreased to close the first session at $83.23. However, the June 6 trading session saw the stock surge back to all-time highs and as of press time, CRCL was trading at $119.21 after hitting a peak of $123.52.<\/span><\/p>\n

Market participants pointed to Circle\u2019s performance as a catalyst for other private crypto firms.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Blockworks co-founder Jason Yanowitz wrote that investment banks \u201care saying it\u2019s go time,\u201d while Moonrock Capital chief executive Simon Dedic said the debut shows public investors will pay for revenue-generating platforms.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Bitwise<\/a> senior investment strategist Juan Leon noted that Circle\u2019s first-day return ranks among the top 10 US IPOs over the past year.<\/span><\/p>\n

Notably, reports from March\u00a0suggested that Kraken<\/a> might be\u00a0preparing for its initial public offering (IPO) next year<\/a>, allegedly<\/span>\u00a0led by Goldman Sachs<\/a> and JPMorgan<\/a>.<\/p>\n
