Vitalik Buterin, the founder of Ethereum, has sparked a buzz in the crypto ecosystem after he shared details about Ethereum’s ongoing push for a more advanced network.
Buterin has expressed belief that Ethereum is about to enter a new phase with several major upgrades capable of changing how it operates in the coming years.
Buterin foresees Ethereum as a cryptographic world computer
As the network continues to advance and improve its infrastructure, Vitalik confirmed that Ethereum is gradually becoming a hybrid system that combines blockchain technology with modern cryptography.
While he mentioned that Ethereum is advancing beyond just a blockchain, Buterin mentioned that Ethereum is growing to become a "cryptographic world computer" in the future.
With its potential upgrades, Ethereum will be able to effectively support more advanced applications while improving security, privacy, and efficiency.
These major advancements are expected to begin on Ethereum after the much anticipated Hegota upgrade goes live as several proposals are already forming part of Ethereum's long-term roadmap.
Ethereum eyes advanced cryptographic techniques
Buterin further specified on some of the major upgrades coming on the Ethereum blockchain, noting that FOCIL, EIP-8288, Lean consensus, improved state management, and formal verification will soon launch on the network.
With the FOCIL upgrade, it will become more complex for block builders to censor transactions. This aims to ensure that users can access the network without depending too heavily on individual participants.
Other upgrades will also help to tighten its network security on the blockchain as they will help Ethereum to reach agreement on transactions.
